Blended Microwave Banana Oats in a bowl with Kiwi and peanut butter drizzle

Blended Microwave Banana Oats

I love a good baked blended oats, but I never have the time or energy for it. This recipe, though, lets me make it in half the time and still enjoy the benefits that the oats have to offer. Servings: 1 Protein: 19g (with peanut butter: 27g) Fiber: 8g (with kiwi: 10g)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c oats
  • 1 c milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 banana
  • 1 TBSP authentic maple syrup
  • 75 % or darker chocolate chips to taste
  • Additional options: peanut butter kiwi, blueberries

Equipment

  • Microwave

Method

  1. Blend oats, milk, egg, banana, and maple syrup until baby food consistency
  2. Mix in chocolate chips
  3. Pour into a mug or shallow bowl
  4. Microwave until done (shallow bowl ~2 minutes, mug ~3-4 minutes)
  5. Add any additional toppings to taste.

Notes

Additionally… I highly recommend adding dark chocolate chips to this. It makes it taste significantly better (unless you aren’t a chocolate lover… then disregard!). Opt for 75% or higher dark chocolate for the best brain benefits.
